  Many of my constructions are born in proximity to streams and lakes.  The verge between water and land is rich in objects belonging to both realms.  "Assisi" was built around a flake of sandstone fetched from a creek on the Feast of St. Francis, 2006, at St. Francis Springs Prayer Center near Stoneville NC.  "Apogee" and the "Proximity" pieces were constructed using debris gathered during a volunteer cleanup effort  at Lake Conestee, a former industrial impoundment reclaimed as a nature preserve near Greenville, SC
