An artist's workspace, like any tool, is an extension of the worker.
A studio structure is defined by the work that is carried out within it, and the nature of the space also shapes to some degree the nature of the works produced there. This studio consists of two connected 20' diameter geotensic domes designed by Bob Gillis at Shelter Systems. Once the site was prepared, My wife and I set up the domes in less than three hours on a summer day in 2003. In the intervening years, the studio has interacted with site and weather, becoming a sort of organic entity, with a life of it's own, and with life sustaining properties that result in a specific pattern of life and body of work that could not occur in any other place.
Welcome to my space. This is where most of my work, and much of my life happens.
